How this works and common questions
About this tool
The price is the cost divided by 1 minus the margin you type, then passed through the rounding rule you select. Nearest cent is selected. A simple estimate, not advice. Nothing you type is stored or sent.
How it works
Divide the cost by 1 minus the margin. A 33% margin on $5.00 is 5.00 / 0.67 = $7.4626…. Nearest cent, half up, is $7.46. Nearest 5 cents is $7.45. Nearest dollar is $7.00. End in .99 is $7.99.
Rules
Half up means a tie rounds away from zero. The figure before the rule, shown in the result, is already half up to the cent. A simple estimate, not advice.
