How this works and common questions

About this tool

The words follow the amount you type. Cents stay in the exact xx/100 form so the cents cannot be rewritten as a word.

How it works

Type a dollar amount. The page spells the dollars and writes the cents as two digits over 100. One dollar stays singular. Zero is written out.

Rules

Cents are always xx/100, including 00/100. The amount cannot be negative. Nothing is rounded. French words are a draft until a translator approves them.

Questions

How are the cents written?

As two digits over 100, for example 56/100. That is the exact cents form used on the cheque line.

What does one dollar look like?

One dollar and 00/100. Amounts other than one dollar use the plural.

Does this print a cheque?

No. It only gives the words. You write or print them on your own cheque.

Do I need an account?

No. The tools work without one. You only need to sign in to save your work.

Is what I type saved?

No. Nothing is saved unless you sign in and choose Save. Otherwise it stays on the page.

Do you show ads or sell my information?

No. We show no ads and we do not sell your information.

Is this tax or legal advice?

No. Results are estimates for planning. Check rates and rules with the official source or a qualified professional.
