How this works and common questions
About this tool
This calculator moves a date by the number of business days you enter. Saturday and Sunday are skipped. Any other day off is a date you type. No holiday is built in. Nothing is stored.
How it works
The count steps one calendar day at a time and keeps only Monday to Friday, minus the holiday dates you typed. The start date itself is not one of the counted days. Zero business days returns the start date unchanged, even on a weekend.
Rules
Saturday and Sunday are always skipped. A holiday is skipped only when you type that date. The same date typed twice counts once. A holiday that falls on a weekend does not change the count. No Canadian holiday is built in.
Questions
What does adding 1 business day to Friday 2 October 2026 give?
Monday 5 October 2026. Saturday and Sunday are skipped. The Friday you start from is not counted.
How do I skip a holiday?
Add a row and type the date. Adding 1 business day to Friday 2 October 2026, with Monday 5 October 2026 typed as a holiday, lands on Tuesday 6 October 2026.
Does a holiday on a Saturday change the result?
No. Saturday is already skipped as a weekend, so typing it again does not move the result.
Do I need an account?
No. The tools work without one. You only need to sign in to save your work.
Is what I type saved?
No. Nothing is saved unless you sign in and choose Save. Otherwise it stays on the page.
Do you show ads or sell my information?
No. We show no ads and we do not sell your information.
Is this tax or legal advice?
No. Results are estimates for planning. Check rates and rules with the official source or a qualified professional.
