How this works and common questions

About this tool

The discount is the separate total minus the bundle price you type. The margin is the bundle price minus the costs, divided by the bundle price. A simple estimate, not advice. Nothing you type is stored or sent.

How it works

Add the separate prices and, on their own, the costs. Subtract the bundle price from the separate total. Divide that discount by the separate total for the percent off. Divide bundle price minus cost by the bundle price for the margin. Both percents round half up to two decimals.

Rules

A negative discount means the bundle costs more than the items apart. The page shows it. A simple estimate, not advice.

Questions

How is the example worked out?

Soap $8.00, lotion $12.00, and cloth $6.00 add to $26.00. Costs of $2.50, $4.00, and $1.50 add to $8.00. A bundle of $20.00 is a $6.00 discount, which is 6.00 / 26.00 = 23.0769…%, rounded half up to 23.08%. Profit is $12.00, which is 60.00% of $20.00.

What if the bundle price is higher than the separate total?

The discount is negative and the page says the bundle price is higher than the items sold separately. The margin is still worked out from the bundle price and the costs.

Does this say whether to offer a bundle?

No. It only compares the prices and costs you type. A simple estimate, not advice.

Do I need an account?

No. The tools work without one. You only need to sign in to save your work.

Is what I type saved?

No. Nothing is saved unless you sign in and choose Save. Otherwise it stays on the page.

Do you show ads or sell my information?

No. We show no ads and we do not sell your information.

Is this tax or legal advice?

No. Results are estimates for planning. Check rates and rules with the official source or a qualified professional.
