How this works and common questions
About this tool
This converter turns a temperature you type between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin. Below zero is a choice on the page. Nothing is stored.
How it works
Fahrenheit is Celsius times 9, divided by 5, plus 32. Kelvin is Celsius plus 273.15. The page works in thousandths of a degree so 0.1 and 0.2 do not drift. A result below 0 K is refused.
Rules
0 °C is 32.000 °F and 273.150 K. 100 °C is 212.000 °F and 373.150 K. -40 °C is -40.000 °F. Choose Below zero and enter 40 to get that pair. Nothing you type is stored or sent.
Questions
