How this works and common questions
About this tool
Each line is one rectangle. The tool adds the areas and shows the other unit beside the result. You type every measure.
How it works
Each line is a rectangle. Area is length times width, then the lines are added. Choose feet or metres for every line. The other unit uses 1 foot = 0.3048 metres (1 July 1959).
Rules
Use the same unit on every line. A zero side gives no area for that line. Results are rounded half up to 2 decimal places. This is not a survey.
Questions
How do I find the area of a room?
Multiply length by width in the same unit. A room 12 feet by 10 feet is 120 square feet.
How do I measure an L-shaped room?
Split it into rectangles and add a line for each part. The tool adds the areas.
Can I use metres instead of feet?
Yes. Choose feet or metres for the whole calculation. The other unit is shown beside the result.
Do I need an account?
No. The tools work without one. You only need to sign in to save your work.
Is what I type saved?
No. Nothing is saved unless you sign in and choose Save. Otherwise it stays on the page.
Do you show ads or sell my information?
No. We show no ads and we do not sell your information.
Is this tax or legal advice?
No. Results are estimates for planning. Check rates and rules with the official source or a qualified professional.
