On a sale of $49.95 at 2.90% plus $0.30, the percent portion is $1.44855, which rounds half up to $1.45. Adding $0.30 makes a fee of $1.75 and a net of $48.20. To net $100.00 at the same rates, the charge is $103.30.

On $49.95, 2.90% is $1.44855, which rounds half up to $1.45. The fixed fee of $0.30 brings the fee to $1.75. The net is $49.95 − $1.75 = $48.20.
