How this works and common questions
About this tool
Wall area minus the openings you type, times the coats, divided by the coverage on your can. You type that coverage. Nothing is stored.
How it works
Wall area is length times height, minus the opening area you type. That area times the number of coats, divided by the coverage on your can, is the litres. The result is rounded half up to 2 decimal places.
Rules
Coverage comes from your paint can, not from this page. Coats are a whole number from 1 to 10. If openings are larger than the wall, there is no result.
Questions
How many coats should I enter?
Enter what your job needs. The can label and the surface condition can guide you.
Do I subtract doors and windows?
You can. Enter the total area of doors and windows to take it off the walls, or leave it blank.
Where do I find how far a litre goes?
On the paint can label. Coverage differs by product and surface, so type the figure from your can.
Do I need an account?
No. The tools work without one. You only need to sign in to save your work.
Is what I type saved?
No. Nothing is saved unless you sign in and choose Save. Otherwise it stays on the page.
Do you show ads or sell my information?
No. We show no ads and we do not sell your information.
Is this tax or legal advice?
