About this tool
The budget is your percent of sales, plus the same percent of the gap when the goal is above sales. Each part is rounded half up to the cent, then added. A simple estimate, not advice.
How it works
Sales of 80,000.00 at 10% are 8,000.00. A goal of 100,000.00 leaves a gap of 20,000.00, and 10% of that gap is 2,000.00. The budget is 10,000.00. Sales of 10.00 at 33.35% are 3.34, because 3.335 rounds half up to the cent.
Rules
You type sales, the percent, and the goal. The base is the percent of sales, half up to the cent. If the goal is higher, the extra is the same percent of the difference, half up to the cent. The budget is those two amounts added. If the goal is not higher, the extra is zero. This does not say what you should spend. A simple estimate, not advice.
