How this works and common questions
About this tool
Turnover is the cost of goods sold divided by the average inventory you type. Days on hand are the period length divided by that turnover. A simple estimate, not advice.
How it works
Divide the cost of goods you type by the average inventory you type. That is the turnover. Divide the days in the period by the turnover to get days on hand.
Rules
Both money figures are at cost, in Canadian dollars. Half up to 2 decimal places. Average inventory cannot be zero. A simple estimate, not advice.
Questions
Should I use sales or cost?
Use the cost of the goods you sold, and inventory at cost, so the units match.
What period should I use?
Use the same period as the cost figure. A year is often 365 days.
Does a higher turnover mean more profit?
No. It only says how fast this stock moved. Profit is a different figure.
Do I need an account?
No. The tools work without one. You only need to sign in to save your work.
Is what I type saved?
No. Nothing is saved unless you sign in and choose Save. Otherwise it stays on the page.
Do you show ads or sell my information?
No. We show no ads and we do not sell your information.
Is this tax or legal advice?
No. Results are estimates for planning. Check rates and rules with the official source or a qualified professional.
