How this works and common questions
About this tool
Volume is length times width times depth. Bags are that volume divided by the bag size you type, rounded up. Extra beds multiply the volume before that round-up. Ballpark estimate, check before you buy. Nothing you type is stored or sent.
How it works
A bed 2.400 m by 1.200 m by 0.300 m is 0.864 cubic metres, 30.512 cubic feet, and 864.000 litres. A bag of 0.025 cubic metres covers that in 35 bags, because 0.864 divided by 0.025 is 34.56 and bags round up.
Rules
You type the bag size. This page does not pick a brand. Beds multiply the volume first, then bags round up once. Ballpark estimate, check before you buy.
Questions
How many bags does the example need?
35 bags. The bed is 0.864 cubic metres and each bag is 0.025 cubic metres. 34.56 rounds up to 35.
What if I have two beds?
The volume is doubled first. Bags then round up once. Two of these beds need 70 bags, not 35 plus another partial bag counted twice.
Which units can I use?
Metric or imperial. Metric is selected at the start. A 25 litre bag is 0.025 cubic metres. Ballpark estimate, check before you buy.
