How this works and common questions
About this tool
Enter the room, an extra percent for cuts, and optionally a tile size or the area one box covers. The tool does the arithmetic. It does not know your pattern or your supplier.
How it works
Room area is length times width, rounded to 2 decimals, half up. The buy area is that area plus the extra percent you type, rounded the same way. If you enter a tile size, tiles are the buy area divided by one tile, rounded up. If you enter the area one box covers, boxes round up the same way.
Rules
Length and width must be above zero. The extra percent can be 0 to 100. Leave tile size and box coverage blank if you only want the area. Fill both tile sides, or neither. Areas use the unit you pick, feet or metres.
Questions
How much extra should I buy?
Cuts, pattern and breakage change the amount. Enter your own extra amount and the total updates.
Does it use tile size?
Yes. Enter the tile length and width and the tool counts whole tiles for the area, rounded up.
What about boxes?
Enter the area one box covers. The tool shows boxes to buy, rounded up.
Do I need an account?
No. The tools work without one. You only need to sign in to save your work.
Is what I type saved?
