How this works and common questions

About this tool

Each line is quantity times the price, rounded half up to the cent. The week total is the sum of those lines. A simple estimate, not advice. Nothing you type is stored or sent.

How it works

Eggs at a quantity of 3 and $6.00 is $18.00. Tomatoes at 2.5 and $4.00 is $10.00. The week total is $28.00, the sum of the rounded lines. A quantity of 1.005 at $1.00 rounds half up to $1.01.

Rules

Up to 10 lines. Every line is in the copy and the CSV. Blank lines are skipped. A simple estimate, not advice.

$28.00. Eggs at 3 and $6.00 is $18.00. Tomatoes at 2.5 and $4.00 is $10.00. The total is those two lines added.

How does a half cent round?

Half up, away from zero, to the cent. A quantity of 1.005 at $1.00 is $1.01, because 1.005 times $1.00 is 100.5 cents.
