How this works and common questions

About this tool

Each choice maps to a class and rate published by the CRA. The page does not calculate a deduction. This is not tax advice.

How it works

Choose one of the common assets. The page shows the CRA class and the class rate from the Canada.ca class list read on 2026-10-03. It does not look at the date you bought the asset beyond the choice you make.

Rules

Rates are the class rates, shown to 2 decimals. The passenger-vehicle ceiling is not stored, because this page does not keep a dollar limit it has not listed. A first-year rule can change the claim. This is not tax advice.
