How this works and common questions
About this tool
Each room is twice the length plus the width, minus the door openings you type. The extra percent is applied once to the total. Verify with your local code or a professional. Nothing is stored.
How it works
A room’s trim is 2 times (length + width), minus the door openings. Rooms are added, then the extra percent is applied once, half up to 2 decimal places. The other unit uses 1 foot = 0.3048 metres.
Rules
You choose feet or metres for every room. Extra is a whole percent from 0 to 100. Openings longer than the perimeter are rejected. Verify with your local code or a professional. Ballpark estimate, check before you buy or quote.
Questions
What do I enter?
The length and width of each room, and the width of any door openings.
Can I add extra for waste?
Yes. Enter an extra percent to cover cuts and mistakes. It is applied once to the total, not once per room.
Does it work for several rooms?
Yes. Add each room and the tool totals them.
Do I need an account?
No. The tools work without one. You only need to sign in to save your work.
Is what I type saved?
No. Nothing is saved unless you sign in and choose Save. Otherwise it stays on the page.
Do you show ads or sell my information?
No. We show no ads and we do not sell your information.
Is this tax or legal advice?
No. Results are estimates for planning. Check rates and rules with the official source or a qualified professional.
